Ronen Chamber Ensemble
|
Halfway through our 23 rd season, the Ronen Chamber Ensemble has completed two successful concerts in the fall, with two outstanding programs still to come in the spring. On October 10 we reprised our original commission of Michael Schelle's “HOWL!,” set to the poem by Allan Ginsburg, along with Mozart's Quintet for piano and strings and Klein's Trio for strings. On Nov. 7 we collaborated with Ensemble Voltaire for an exploration of the link between early music and early music instruments and modern compositions for modern instruments, including the premiere of Christopher Rutkowski's “Divertimento.” On February 10 our concerts continued with International Violin Competition of Indianapolis Gold Medalist Judith Ingolfsson in Strauss' Sonata for violin and piano and a presentation of Stravinsky's “A Soldiers Tale” featuring three actors and the instrumental ensemble. On April 24 (note new date) we will conclude our season with Music from the St. Petersburg Conservatory. The Ronen Chamber Ensemble remains the only chamber music group in the city to feature music for winds and strings. We regularly commission works from Indiana composers. With your support, we transitioned to independent operation, following several years under the sponsorship umbrella of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. While recognition and financial support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Arts Council of Indianapolis are continuing, grants and ticket sales pay for less than half of our expenses. We are planning another exciting series of concerts for next season, including newly commissioned works. We hope you will consider a gift to the Ronen Chamber Ensemble to help us continue our exciting programming. If you have given in the past and can match or increase your gift, we would very much appreciate it. If this is your first opportunity to give to Ronen, please consider that your gift will make a difference to the musical and artistic life in central Indiana . Please make your check payable to The Ronen Chamber Ensemble, Inc., and mail it to the above address.* Visit our website, www.ronenchamber.org , to learn more about our coming concerts. With our very best regards and gratitude, Tibor Klopfer David Bellman * Contributions may be deductible for federal income tax purposes, as provided by law.
